Welcome back. I'll be looking for your posts at PoliPundit. I would have commented there but I did not want to let poor Jayson know that it just was not as good without you. He tries his best and he is fun to tease.

Welcome back, Lorie!

Cool pics! Hope you and all the family had a lot of fun, but we missed you 'round the 'sphere this last week and 1/2! Good to know you are back!

Thats a 6 year old bull. He's scratching his chest on the rock.

I call them buffalo too.

I consider buffalo bulls and cows safer than cattle bulls and cows.

I should know. I have 500 head of buffalo and this is my 12th year raising them.

I always considered the insisting on "bison" to be pedantic
Great photos
Song ain't: "Give me a home, where the BISON roam ..."

Pedantic is correct. My whole family comes from the Texas side of the Red River (not too far from Lawton). You don't find many people from that area calling it a "bison" (though the old 'Bison Tennial' joke can get laugh from them). Calling a buffalo a bison is usually seen as an effort to be different, be a smart-ass or a sign of Yankee influence. I think technically all bison are buffalo but not all buffaloes are bison.

there are different views on this topic
I think what best we can do is tell it first and then give a review of weight ...

I usually do not comment, but I read a few of the comments here Oklahoma Pictuires - LorieByrd.com. I actually do have a couple of questions for you if it's allright. Is it simply me or do some of the comments appear as if they are left by brain dead individuals? :-P And, if you are posting at other online sites, I would like to keep up with you. Would you make a list of every one of all your social sites like your linkedin profile, Facebook page or twitter feed?
